Red Rock & Canyons

Departures:

February 17 March 9 (22 days)

The Package at a Glance

Winnipeg to Saskatchewan

Manitoba passengers transfer to Saskatchewan and overnight.

Day 1 Home Cities to Great Falls, MT
A quick duty free stop and on to our first overnight in Great Falls, Montana.
Day 2 Great Falls to Salt Lake City, UT
Waking up in the mountains is always so refreshing! Sit back and relax as the Rockies of Montana roll into the hills of Idaho and the flats of Utah.
Day 3 Salt Lake City to Mesquite, NV
This morning we will tour Salt Lake Temple at Temple Square, home of the Mormons. Right at the border of Utah and Nevada is our destination, Mesquite.
Day 4 Mesquite to Laughlin, NV
One extreme to another...Sin City, here we come! If you haven’t seen Vegas in a couple of years, expect a 100% change. You won’t believe it! A taste of Vegas today, more later for those die hard fans, then on to Laughlin for the next four nights.
Day 5 Laughlin
The day is free (well it might cost you a few quarters). Or maybe you want to test your rusty golf clubs.
Day 6 Las Vegas and return to Laughlin, NV
A full day in Vegas or relax around Laughlin, the choice is yours. After lunch, we will depart for Vegas. Once darkness settles in, a tour of the lights and back to Laughlin.
Day 7 Laughlin
An interesting trip to Oatman, Arizona today, but beware, we hear there is an unruly element in these parts! London Bridge is falling down, yes, but they put it back together in Lake Havasu City. After our little excursions, you may want to try out the water taxis back in Laughlin.
Day 8 Laughlin to Williams, AZ

Another leisurely day, this time down historic Route 66 - also known as the Mother Road, the Will Rogers Highway and the Main Street of America.

After checking into Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, you may want to enjoy the small town charm of Williams. Stroll down Route 66, just two blocks south of the train depot. This evening's dinner at the Railway’s Max & Thelma’s Restaurant is included.

Day 9 Williams to Flagstaff, AZ

Wake up to a beautiful northern Arizona morning, the air is crisp and clean at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Have breakfast at the restaurant (included) and then be sure to check out the historic depot and rail museum. At 9:30 a.m., there is a Wild West shootout to the west of the depot between the Marshal and the infamous Cataract Creek Gang.

All Aboard! At 10:00 a.m., hop aboard the train for a 65 mile
journey to the most famous of the Seven Wonders of the World. You’ll arrive at the South Rim at 12:30 p.m. Once at the canyon, we have an hour-and-a-half coach tour; enough time is left to explore Grand Canyon Village on our own before the train departs. Once back in Williams, it’s all aboard our coach for the short drive to Flagstaff.

Day 10 Flagstaff to Tucson, AZ
Scenery is the big highlight again today, but we have some interesting non-scenic stops as well. One will be in Sedona, famous for its Navajo artists. Our day ends in Tucson, where again we can unpack for four nights.
Day 11 Tucson
To get acquainted with our new city, we start the visit here with a city tour. After lunch, a drive to Tombstone for a re-enactment of the gunfight at the OK Corral. Also a visit to the Historama where we hear the narration of the exciting multimedia history of Tombstone from Geronimo’s Apaches to modern times.
Day 12 Tucson
This is your free day in Tuscon. A round of golf, relax by the pool or explore the town, the choice is yours. This is also our coach drivers day off, if you see him by the pool say hi.
Day 13 Tucson

First stop, the future: Biosphere II. The $150 million facility opened in 1991 as a massive closed system that would last for 100 years of testing nature, technology and human endurance. Two early human survival missions lasted for two years and six months respectively. This amazing world under glass includes a one million gallon saltwater ocean

This evening a group BBQ is planned.

Day 14 Tucson to Yuma, AZ
After arriving in Yuma, we’ll visit the Yuma Territorial Prison. We know that some may want to stay here for the night, but it is probably best to return to the hotel!
Day 15 Yuma to Mesa, AZ

We will visit the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. There are 60 documented archaeological sites in the monument. Some of these sites have been dated to AD 550-700, while the compounds were built between AD 1200-1450.

After a busy day, it will be nice to arrive at our home for the next four nights.

Day 16 Mesa
This is your day! Visit, tour, shop, swim or just
plain relax, whatever your pleasure.
Day 17 Mesa
A beautiful steamboat cruise on Canyon Lake is today’s highlight. This is an enjoyable narrated cruise where the scenery takes on a new light. Another group BBQ is slated for this evening.
Day 18 Mesa
A mid morning city tour will show us what this wonderful area is all about. No wonder so many come here in retirement. You will have some free time today.
Day 19 Mesa to Mesquite, AZ
The time has come to start back home. This evening we head back to Nevada. Join your tour director, driver and fellow travellers for a WestWorld Tours Farewell Dinner.
Day 20 Mesquite to Salt Lake City, UT
Today we arrive in Salt Lake with plenty of time to visit Salt Lake Temple at Temple Square.
Day 21 Salt Lake City to Great Falls, MT
We may see some snow in Great Falls but with all the friendships we have made on this tour we will feel warm on the inside!
Day 22 Great Falls to Home Cities
One last shopping stop at the Duty Free store and then we are
back in Canada! Welcome home. We trust this warm adventure will have shortened your winter. Manitoba passengers overnight in Saskatchewan and then transfer home.
